The Brexit Civil Society Alliance is hosting a roundtable discussion with the third sector in York about the impacts Brexit will have on the sector.
From questions around the replacement of EU funding that the third sector receives, the settled status scheme to the maintenance of fundamental rights, it is evident that Brexit will have significant impacts on civil society.
The Brexit Civil Society Alliance is hosting a roundtable discussion on what Brexit means for the third sector in York. The event will bring civil society and relevant stakeholders together to network and share information and discuss what happens next and how York third sector can best prepare for exit day. It will also be an opportunity to express thoughts and concerns about Brexit's impact on civil society.

Mike Hawking- Policy & Partnerships Manager, Joseph Rowntree Foundation: UK Shared Prosperity Fund
Mike's areas of expertise include: living wage, pay, labour markets, unemployment, working with employers, devolution, neighbourhoods, public spaces, regeneration, planning, transport, economic development and local growth, services and local government, and localism. Prior to joining Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Mike was an advisor to the directly elected Mayor of Lewisham, and has worked on housing policy for charities and housing associations in London and Leeds. He has an MSc in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics.
Kate Young- Brexit campaigner, ChemTrust: Brexit's impact on environmental & chemical standards
Kate previously worked as Head of Research for a political consultancy specialising in healthcare, conducting issue-led campaigning for a range of patient groups, charities and professional organisations. She has a degree in Biochemistry and experience in several multidisciplinary scientific research laboratories and developed her German language skills whilst working for a start-up in Berlin
